Professional Pre-Sales Services
Spescom DataFusion’s 30 years’ experience in the contact centre and enterprise telephony arena positions it to deliver professional pre-sales services that take the whole gamut of ICT – from legacy to the most technologically sophisticated solutions – into consideration.
In the ‘70s and ‘80s, and even early ‘90s everything in IT was about boxes (hardware boxes). Even though the boxes decreased in size as the years went by, the successful vendor companies were still those that shifted the biggest amount of said boxes. The successful customers were those with enough money and space to fit it all.
Late in the ‘90s, IT started a long migratory path towards application and software architectures. The box was still important. In fact, most applications in the business-to-business IT market in the late ‘90s and even early in the new century were delivered bundled to their own steel - the so-called ‘black box’. This is still the case today for select technology platforms.
In the last decade the landscape has been changing, however. The move to open platform, software-predominant solution architectures continues. And if you believe the vendors, these broad-stroke IT solution infrastructure and architecture changes should only affect you in a positive manner. Your cost should be decreasing, your solutions should be more serviceable and easily supported, and functionality should be going through the roof.
Why then do so many IT projects and implementations disappoint or, even worse, fail?
The new era of complexity we’ve entered has nothing to do with infrastructure. In fact, infrastructure is a given. It is crucially important (eg, your communications infrastructure services your voice and data networks), but it is non-negotiable. You do not really care what it looks like or what it says on the cable. As long as it works, and it is bullet proof.
The real challenges crucial to successful deployment of business level ICT solutions lie in two concepts, namely (1), gaining a collective understanding of the impacted business processes that make up you operation, and (2), the integration of systems.
In delivering its infrastructure, applications, solutions and services, Spescom DataFusion believes that it needs to work with organisations to define the precursors to project success. We do that with what we call Business Process Analysis. We charge for this type of work, since the deliverables are tangible, product agnostic, and may be used to define other projects with other service providers.
The result is powerful.
